This Estate gathers five cuvées in Meursault, form the generic Chardonnay (representing five hectares) to the mythical Les Perrières First Growth. A formidable interpret of a bright appellation, the Chardonnays from Jean-Marc Roulot are never too broad, but are rather built for ageing. The juices often shine in tehir youth with a tight texture, the fruit envelopping a squeletton of in-line tension. The wines are then longer than large, without ever lacking fruit. The Meix Chavaux often opens rapidly: it comes from a clay soil, generating a broad wine, with wood always well integrated. Les Luchets, more crystal-like, boasts a great bunch of aromas, from verveine to orange peelings. The wine gains even more volume on the first growth Poruzots, located within the village of Meursault, and elaborated form old vines of the estate. Besides, Charmes first growth, has a caramel nose with lactic notes: it is the broadest and most textured of the first growths. The first growth les Perrières, finally, beloings to the very top Chardonnays with its white pepper and cedar touches. The texture has wonderful and persistant length. Jean-Marc Roulot’s wines are unique, by their purity, their tension, their razor-like balance, but most of all by the emotions they create with amateurs all over the world.
