Les Chevalières is a village-level lieu-dit in Meursault, on a stony, wind-swept, northeast-facing slope with poor soils, near Meix Chavaux and Les Luchets. The vines were planted in 1982. The wine ferments with native yeasts in barrels filled with little or no settling, then ages for 19 to 22 months with a moderate share of new oak. It is bottled unfiltered.
The nose combines green orchard fruit, citrus zest, mint and pastry cream, framed by elegant oak. The palate is concentrated and chalky, driven by lively acidity, with great length. In the sunny, generous 2022 vintage, this Chevalières keeps the house’s tension and precision: a village Meursault that drinks like a premier cru, best given a little time or a decanter.
