Les Santenots du Milieu lies in the commune of Meursault, on the border with Volnay. Planted with Pinot Noir, it is sold under the Volnay 1er Cru Santenots appellation. It is the estate’s great red, made in tiny quantities. In 2019, Arnaud Ente kept about 15% whole bunches.
The nose shows a mass of fresh red fruit, concentrated and intense, with just the right ripeness. The palate is medium to full-bodied, ample and succulent, with a fleshy core of fruit and melting tannins. The finish is long and perfumed. A Volnay of great class, balanced and sensual, both approachable and built to age.
"Ample and succulent, a fleshy core of fruit, melting tannins and a long, perfumed finish." (Wine Advocate, 93/100)
