Description of the Domaine Comte de Vogüe
The estate's Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru blends premier cru fruit with young Musigny vines, under 25 years old, which the estate declassifies until they are old enough to join its Musigny.
In 2019, harvest began on 14 September, with very low yields (about 20 hl/ha), so the estate extracted very gently. The lively, perfumed nose combines forest berries, red cherry, dried flowers, earth and a touch of smoke. The palate is deep and complex, very pure and never heavy, built around a compact mineral core. The finish is long, savoury and fresh, with a note of blood orange. This is a premier cru for the cellar, already very close in character to its great neighbour, Musigny.

" This is aromatically restrained while similar to the Chambolle villages in terms of the fruit but with more apparent spice and floral influences. The sleek, intense and big-bodied weight flavors exhibit evident minerality on the focused and gorgeously textured finish where a touch of bitter cherry pit character slowly emerges. This markedly firmer effort and beautifully balanced wine is a really lovely wine that possesses a similar degree of finesse but with plenty of punch to go with it. In a word, terrific."
