Description of the Domaine Tortochot
Noticeable if not flattening reduction detracts mildly from the cool red berry fruit and mineral aromas though I would suggest decanting this for 30 minutes first should you decide to open one young. The equally cool mineral-infused flavors are serious and moderately structured on the balanced and firm finish. Lovely.
Another recent recuperation, 400 bottles, from Georges Lignier.
Pale to mid cherry red. Very seductive on the nose. A little solid and pedestrian on the palate. Red sucky sweet?
A very pungent nose speaks only of reduction and wood. Otherwise the succulent but more voluminous middle weight plus flavors exude a subtle minerality before concluding in solidly powerful
More complex yet more reserved on the nose with the hallmark sexy, spicy and pure black fruit aromas that are followed by deeply pitched
This is notably cooler and more restrained yet just as elegant with ripe, elegant, pure and airy earth and mineral suffused red berry aromas
The beautifully layered nose offers another small step up in elegance and a large step up in aromatic complexity and spiciness to the essence of red pinot fruit and intense floral influence
