La Roche comes from a 0.48 ha plot of vines about 50 years old, planted on the limestone slopes of Vergisson, at the foot of the rock that gives the cuvée its name. The grapes are hand-picked into small crates, chilled overnight, then gently pressed as whole bunches
The colour is straw yellow. The nose combines yellow apple, apricot and white flowers, with a touch of spice. The palate is young, juicy and fresh, carried by a mineral, saline backbone: lime zest, yellow fruit and wet stone. The finish is clean and taut, with a buttery hint. This is a Mâcon of rare precision, far from the heavy, oaky styles of the region.
