L’Oratoire Saint-Jean d’Aureilhan is the estate of Franck Soulayrol, the son of a winegrower and nephew of the Vaillé family (La Grange des Pères). After years working in several French wine regions, he returned in 2021 to Liausson, on the shores of Lake Salagou, to found his estate of about 6 hectares. The vines grow on schist, limestone, marl and molasse soils, farmed organically and worked by hand. Within a few vintages the estate has become one of the most promising and most confidential young names in the Languedoc.

The 2022 shows a dark colour and a nose of dark and red fruit, garrigue and spice, with a vanilla touch from the barrels. The palate is powerful and velvety, carried by a bright freshness that balances the concentration. A sunny, deep wine, to decant if served young or to keep a few years while the oak integrates.
